Project Background
The East, Central, and Southern Africa College of Nursing (ECSACON) was established as an executing arm of the then Commonwealth Regional Health Community Secretariat for East, Central, and Southern Africa (CRHCS-ECSA) in the area of nursing and midwifery.
Through their website, they have played a pivotal role in providing information on nursing and midwifery. However, the experience for users is not optimal. There is a need to re-engineer the experience using Human Centred Design (HCD)to provide the information in a manner that will be most useful to the users.
Project Scope
- Conduct user research with different stakeholders to determine the user pain points, frustrations, constraints, expectations goals, and aspirations.
- User journey mapping
- UI/UX design
- Prototyping
- Conduct usability testing for the final prototype.
The Process
- We conducted one on one interviews and surveys with all the stakeholder categories to understand how they use the website
- Evaluated the user pain points, frustrations, goals, and aspirations and mapped that with the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Redesigned the user experience to meet the user needs, alleviate pain points, and introduce new features
- Tested the prototype with the different stakeholders.
Outcomes
- Redesigned website with optimized user experience and new user-led features.
- Redesigned administration dashboard to meet user needs.
